I wish I could open this post by telling you the historical significance of this estate, but I’m just the oaf behind the camera phone. I can, however, open it with the fresh scones, homemade jam, and cappuccino we ate at their cafe. That’s better anyway, right?
There’s not a ton to say about this place. There were lots of plants, walking paths, a Japanese garden, and a battlement of some sort. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re Ireland. If you’re not, you can just look at my pictures 👇
I understood everything I saw around the grounds except this. WTF is this?
You can climb up the spiral staircase of the battlement and get a nice view of the grounds though they did not photograph all that well. They also have a superb gift shop / nursery where I bought an umbrella. I tell great stories, don’t I? The umbrella was black.
This was our first stop on the way to Kilkenny. Up next, Glendalough, a monastic city. I don’t know what that word means but I see it in Sarah’s itinerary so let’s just pretend that I do and not make this weird.
