The second and final stop for the trip was Opolo Vineyards. While I wouldn’t call JUSTIN “stuffy”, by comparison Opolo was much more of an everyman’s vineyard. Their “featured” food was wood-fired pizza and their patio felt more backyard BBQ than I’m used to seeing on a wine tasting trip which was a refreshing change of pace.

Their wine is good, but I think really you go for a chill time and some great pizza. I hear they throw an absolute banger for members when they do their harvest (Oct?) and that full grown adults (is there another kind?) habitually get carted off on flatbeds for overdoing it. This info is at best third-hand, so until you do your own fact-checking that’s 100% true and we both know you’re too lazy to follow up.

It’s worth a stop if you’re in Paso. They tricked me into signing up for their wine club by offering me a bottle of wine that was actually two bottles of wine, which for clarity was an oversized magnum bottle rather than my drunk ass just seeing double.

Willow Creek Distillery

As a fun aside, they have an affiliate distillery on-site. They let you taste 4 of their offerings for like $10 but the guy there was super chill and let us taste pretty much all of them and because we were members I don’t even think he charged us. You can see it peeking out in the patio shot above (it’s the glass garage door on in the top center). They have a coffee liqueur and a mint chocolate chip liqueur that both go amazingly well on ice cream or in coffee or hot chocolate, respectively. I came home with a bottle of their whiskey.
