On our way home, we stopped for a night in Napa for the second time in our young marriage. We began our day at the only duplicated stop (V. Sattui) because their deli is that good. We did some tasting because we were there (and had a 2-for-1 coupon) but their wine is just ok – it’s the food that gets you in the door. Since we’d already been we didn’t take any photos this time (except for the sandwich below), so I’ll just link you to the V. Sattui post from our last trip.
Our first new stop was at Mumm Napa – a place that only makes champagne… or sparkling wine if you want to be technical about it (thanks, France *rolls eyes*) This place was something like 180 years old and poured us far more per taster than we were expecting… the beginning of the end. We actually bought a bottle for a special occasion yet to be named.
Oh, and apparently Carlos Santana makes his line of sparkling wine here and it’s quite good, as it turns out… go figure.
