Besides waling the city walls we took some time to wander the streets of Dubrovnik. Not surprisingly, there’s something vaguely Venetian about them – or perhaps to my untrained American eye all European cities are equally unlike American cities. They’re old, narrow, exquisitely detailed, and best of all they beg for you to get lost in them.
After creating a calorie deficit walking the wall, we had lunch at this CroAsian place, which is exactly what it sounds like. Crotian-Asian fusion. It was excellent and had a good sense of humor (see photo gallery: the photo of the blurb was taken from their bathroom)
Like most days on our visit, it started a bit cloudy and then cleared up. Croatia likes to play it fast an loose with temperatures. I kept hearing strong Jewish women from my life… Layers, you’ll catch cold out there. Jacket zipped up, off, then on, then partly on, then around the waist, then zipped up to my eyeballs. It took 37 years, but the training finally kicked in.
Here are some photos from our day walking the city. (EDIT: sorry some of the images are sideways – apparently this a bug that’s been in WordPress when used with images taken on an iPhone since 2010… take your time fellas. I’ll look into fixing this as soon as I can)
