State Plates: 38/50
Not much doing today, mostly driving. We stopped for lunch and a walk in Canon Beach. This beach sported a wide collection of giant rocks not far from land, a feature of Oregon that seemed to start abruptly at the state line. I wonder if that’s how the California founders decided they’d claimed enough land.
We haven’t seen any new plates today and we have to return the car tomorrow in Seattle. I’d really like to get to 40 but if we end up at 38 I’ll consider that a pretty good showing. I’ve learned two things from playing this game. One, Oregon has as many different plate designs as their precious Ducks have uniforms. I think they’re trying to distract people from their inhospitable coastline. And two, people from Utah, Illinois and Idaho clearly have no desire to be where they live.
Tomorrow we find out whether Bill Hodges catches Mr. Mercedes. 🤔
