As we often do, Sarah and I popped down to San Diego for a few days to get out of the heat. School has just let out and so naturally we went straight back to learning by heading to their Natural History Museum for a small but mighty exhibit called Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea.

For the record, I always feel weird about putting photographs of art exhibits in here because it’s hard to credit the artists on a per-photo basis. If you want more info about the artists or the project, you can learn more at washedashore.org

Anyhow, the exhibit featured ocean-themed art made from trash fished out of the oceans. If you’re in the San Diego area it’s absolutely worth checking out. Here are some of my favorite pieces.

And just for good measure, here are a few pictures from the rest of the trip offered without commentary.

I lied… some commentary. How badass is the King Squirrel we found? He was lording over his domain like a boss. None shall pass! Literally everyone passed, but I give him an A for effort and an A+ for style.
