The town of Banff is, well, adorable. It’s this little ski village tourist trap kind of place with a really fun walkable downtown area. It’s quite pricey (like more expensive than staying in Maui) to stay in town so we stayed a 20 minute walk up the road at the Tunnel Mountain Resort. They’ve got traditional fireplaces (they supply the wood) in the room and they even hook you up with bus passes to get into town, which we utilized frequently.
The walk into town looks like this:
And here’s downtown
And the food
(some of it… I’m still not great a remembering to take pictures of food)
There were far too many places to choose from and most of them looked very good. You could easily take a month eating your way through Banff. Here are a couple favorite spots
- Block Kitchen + Bar: Asian Fusion – see shrimp, ahi, and cocktails above
- SALTLIK Restaurant: Fine dining (we had Sarah’s birthday dinner here)
- COWS: ice cream
- Park Distillery: food, beer, and cocktails
So hard to choose…
